Blackberry Bold 9700

The Blackberry Bold 9700 is also known as the Onyx or the Blackberry Bold 2. So don't get confused if you are looking for the Blackberry Bold 9700 and land up on a page that reviews the Blackberry Bold 2 or the Blackberry Onyx. The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is certainly much more compact and easily fitting in the hand than its predecessor. Oh and that track pad certainly works great too outdoing the E72 optical track pad by several laps.

Samsung T539 Beat Review

Launched exactly two years ago, one of the first handsets from the Beat series, Samsung T539 can now be tagged as a low-budget clamshell.
Samsung-T539-Beat-Review-3
Samsung T-539 features two TFT displays, which are very small compared to the latest handsets launched by the Korean company. It has a small 1.3-megapixel camera protected by a thin plastic.  The camera is capable of taking snapshots with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels, and short clips can be registered with a maximum resolution of 176x144 pixels.
The handset is definitely not made for those that usually surf the Internet. Either the small display or the poor browser will make you give this feature up. The integrated browser (NetFront 3.2) cannot display pages that are larger than 300KB, thus lowering the Internet capabilities.
Samsung T539 only has GPRS and EDGE (Class 10, 236.8 kbps) technologies. Mostly, you will use WAP to download applications that you need and think that will run on the clamshell, because there is no way you can actually browse Internet pages.
Samsung T539 features an ARM9 family processor running at speeds up to 201 MHz.
The quad band (GSM 850 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900) network compatible handset has a good GSM signal reception. Unfortunately, the sound is pretty defective, but loud enough.

New Volvo S80 Review

volvo_s80_t6_awd_2009
The 2008 Volvo S80 line is outfitted with an impressive array of safety features including all-wheel brakes, a system for traction control, a collision warning system that includes pre-braking technology, cruise control that is radar adaptive, airbags in the front, and dual-chamber bags on the side. The key features of S 80 are:
Class: Mid-size, luxury
Passengers: 5
Engine: 3.2 Liter I6, 3.0 Liter I6 turbocharged, 4.4 Liter V8
Transmission: 6-speed auto,
Fuel Efficiency: 16/24 mpg (3.2), 15/23 mpg (3.0, 4.4)
Power: 235 HP (3.2), 281 HP (3.0), 311 HP (4.4)
Torque: 236 lb-ft (3.2), 295 lb-ft (3.0), 325 lb-ft (4.4)
MSRP: $38,705 - 49,210
Reviews by the users:
This is our sixth new Volvo and it is by far the best! The all wheel drive, integrated Bluetooth, and Dynaudio entertainment system make it incredible for trips across town or across the country. I'd put the T6 up against any BMW 5 Series in terms of comfort, reliability, and overall drive ability.
· The best Volvo sedan yet. The AWD wipes out the torque steer you might expect. Turbo charging has always delivered a crazy amount of torque for Volvo and I would always choose a turbo charged engine over a non-turbo. This is the only reason to stay away from the entry level 3.2 model. It is absolutely the most boring vehicle to drive. Another regret is a very typical Volvo gripe; no manual transmission. If Volvo ever wants to break into BMW, Audi, and Acura territory they are going to have to bring the manual transmission option back. I own a 2006 C70 T5 with the manual transmission and it is fantastic! I strongly recommend putting this sedan on your list; Volvo has the potential to really regain the sports sedan segment with the S80....

Honda Accord Crosstour 2010

124800,xcitefun-honda-accord-crosstour-2010-02[1] 124799,xcitefun-honda-accord-crosstour-2010-03[1]
Honda Accord Crosstour has a foot both in the wagon and CUV realms still has us scratching our heads. Taking a peek at what's being cross-shopped against Honda's latest offering proves potential customers are in the same boat.Fitting every car into a neat categorical box is a fool's errand, but the Crosstour is apparently making everyone wonder just where it belongs. According to early Edmunds' data, buyers seem to think the Crosstour competes most closely with the Toyota Venza, with ToMoCo's wagon-on-stilts being cross-shopping against the Crosstour more than any other vehicle. Other Honda models are also heavily considered against the Crosstour, according to Edmunds Auto Observer, as are a panoply of other cars. Luxury rides like the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series wind up in the comparison column, as do more traditional crossovers like the Chevrolet Equinox and Toyota RAV-4.While the Crosstour has been called lots of unflattering things, it's clear that figuring out whether it's neatly described as fish or fowl is more of a thorny chestnut.

New Volvo S60 Gets Fleshed Out

125645,xcitefun-volvo-s60[1]
Set to compete with the likes of the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class; the newest Volvo S60 will make its grand debut in the spring of next year. The design is nearly identical to the 2008 S60 concept and should make some design waves in Volvo’s lineup helping to separate the S60 from the S80, which it previously bore an uncomfortably close resemblance to. The S60 will get several engine choices including 4, 5 and 6 cylinder Ford engines and an efficient Drive option. Volvo’s first GTDi engine is also expected to make an appearance in the production model. The above image was drawn by a Car Magazine artist with knowledge of the final design.

5 Issues with Windows 7

windows-7 1. Microsoft's latest operating system Windows 7 opened to rave reviews last week. After the dismal performance of its earlier operating system Vista, Microsoft seems to be heaving a sigh of relief at the grand reception that its new OS has received.
PC makers are scrambling to offer Windows 7-based systems, including Netbooks, as they hope the operating system to spur PC sales. After skidding for six months, computer shipments have shown some improvements recently. Seems Microsoft is all set to further strengthen its grasp over computer desktops.
Not really! As many skeptics beg to differ. According to them, Vista too got high marks before its release as well, with writers praising the new visual design and glossing over quirks that later became common gripes.
Here's looking into what may dampen Microsoft's Windows 7 party.

2. One of the biggest complain that most analysts have is the lack of direct upgrade from XP, the operating system which still continues to run on almost 80% of the world's computers. Windows 7 fails to offer a smooth transition from XP as there is no upgrade option. Users will have to go for a fresh install.
Writes Tony Bradley of PC World, "After the issues with Windows Vista, and knowing that the vast majority of users-both consumer and enterprise-are still relying on Windows XP, it seems like a direct upgrade path is a necessity. Many users may be frustrated by the lack of upgrade path and having to do a fresh install, reinstall all of the other software and migrate user settings. Microsoft has provided tools to ease the pain, but this is still the biggest opportunity for negative PR or backlash related to Windows 7."
According to Microsoft, the upgrade option is not available in Windows 7 Setup when installing Windows 7 on a computer running Windows XP. However, users can use Windows Easy Transfer to migrate files and settings from Windows XP to Windows 7 on the same computer

3. The basic requirements of a PC to run on Windows 7 are 1 GHz processor, minimum 1GB of RAM and 16GB hard drive space. This in simple words means any hardware that worked with Vista will work for Windows 7 too.
However, one of the most crucial reasons for Vista not succeeding was that the operating system almost forced a hardware upgrade on users. Hope the almost similar requirement does not hamper the prospects of Windows 7. It's is also to be noted here that that the basic PC configuration has seen a jump since Vista days

4. According to Bradley, Windows Vista stumbled due to the lack of hardware and device driver support. He writes, "The vendors just weren't ready when Vista was launched and Vista never really recovered from the damaged reputation even after most of those issues were resolved."
It is not a great experience for users working on a new operating system to find out that their existing printer, wireless router, webcam, and other peripheral hardware devices don't work with the new OS. This means either they stop working on that hardware or look for new hardware that is compatible

5. The most controversial and much maligned feature of Vista, UAC or User Account Control is a part of Windows 7 too. The UAC was designed to prevent unauthorised execution of code by displaying a pop-up warning every time a change is being made to the system, whether by the operating system or a third-party application.
Many Vista users complained of being bombarded with the warnings. It proved a huge annoyance for users installing new applications frequently. Windows 7 now allows you to set the level of information that a user desires.
However, writes Bradley, "... still after much debate with the security community during the Beta testing, the default setting is still set to what users experienced with Windows Vista. Frankly, UAC serves a purpose and it is better to leave it alone. But, those who dislike UAC are going to have to go into the control panel and modify the configuration to their liking or be faced with the same pop-ups that annoyed the world with Vista
