Finnish cell phone maker Nokia has launched a low-priced handset X2 in the Indian market.
The candy bar X2 sports a 2.2-inch QVGA screen and weighs 81 grams. The phone packs dual speakers, dedicated music keys, FM stereo and support for up to 16GB of storage via microSD card.
Other key features include Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB 2.0. The phone runs on Nokia's proprietary S40 OS.
X2 also offers direct access to Face book from the home screen and comes with Nokia Messaging for email and Instant Messaging. Other notable feature include instant access to apps from Ovi Store, a 5 megapixel camera and a video recorder.
The phone is priced at Rs 5,000 and is likely to be available from June.
Nokia last week unveiled details of its first phone N8 with new Symbian 3 software, designed to challenge the iPhone and Blackberry at the high-end of the market.
The company cut its profit outlook and delayed the sales launch of Symbian 3 phones until the third quarter, sending its shares sharply lower. "Nokia is reacting to the fire alarm," said Swedbank analyst Jari Honko.
Nokia, which has yet to show the phone to journalists or analysts, is counting on the new software to start clawing back market share lost to the company's new rivals.
However, analysts said the new model and software upgrade at best put Nokia on par with features already available to consumers of Google's Android software, or Sony Ericsson, which has sold a 12-megapixel camera phone since 2009.
"Symbian 3 is evolutionary not revolutionary, but N8, if reliable, is a first step in efforts to make Nokia's high-end phones credible again," said Ben Wood, head of research at CCS Insight.
The new N8 flagship model will have a 12 megapixel camera, 3.5-inch touch screen and retail for 370 Euros ($493), excluding subsidies and taxes, Nokia said in a press release.
Analysts said it was unclear how much of an impact the phone will have on third-quarter results as it goes on sale only in selected markets during the quarter.
"I believe it will slightly calm the markets. It does not solve all of Nokia's problems, but it is an important first step," said Nordea analyst Sami Sarkamies.

Ten Tips for your Cell Phones
This small hand held device that almost half of the world carries with them is our way of communication and more. Our personal and professional level of communication has changed and enhanced drastically due to cell phones and yet many of us are still in dark regarding how to take proper care of cell phone and increasing its performance. Many don’t realize that cell phone radiates harmful radiations and cause health risks. These harmful effects however, can be controlled by taking simple steps in consideration.
Here are top ten tips on how to enhance Cell phone performance, security and reduce health risks:
1. Restrict Bluetooth Usage
Keeping your Bluetooth switch on is not only unwise when it comes to security purpose but also drain battery charge. It’s not advisable to keep Bluetooth on when you’re not using it.
2. Hold your cell phone at Bottom
Hold your cell phone at the bottom because if your cover your cell phone by your hand then it reduces its ability to send or receive the signal. The phone increases its power to transmit stronger radiation.
3. Turn it off when not in use
If your cell phone is no longer in use for a longer period of time then switch it off. And if you don’t expect calls in the middle of the night then switch it off during night time too when you go to sleep and turn it on in the morning.

Samsung T539 Beat Review

Samsung T-539 features two TFT displays, which are very small compared to the latest handsets launched by the Korean company. It has a small 1.3-megapixel camera protected by a thin plastic. The camera is capable of taking snapshots with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels, and short clips can be registered with a maximum resolution of 176x144 pixels.
The handset is definitely not made for those that usually surf the Internet. Either the small display or the poor browser will make you give this feature up. The integrated browser (NetFront 3.2) cannot display pages that are larger than 300KB, thus lowering the Internet capabilities.
Samsung T539 only has GPRS and EDGE (Class 10, 236.8 kbps) technologies. Mostly, you will use WAP to download applications that you need and think that will run on the clamshell, because there is no way you can actually browse Internet pages.
Samsung T539 features an ARM9 family processor running at speeds up to 201 MHz.
The quad band (GSM 850 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900) network compatible handset has a good GSM signal reception. Unfortunately, the sound is pretty defective, but loud enough.
